LAUNCH AN IDEA: JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

Recently, Team One had the distinct honor of working with Junior Achievement of Southern California. Junior Achievement is a non-profit that teaches kids about money. Kids who often grow up in households where money isn’t well understood. Or managed.

As we confront growing financial inequality, there’s an answer so obvious, it often gets overlooked. That answer is teaching kids early, how to save and care for money. Seems like a small thing. But it’s not. The statistics are overwhelming. Put bluntly, a generation of kids who understand money could level financial inequality in a way that policy change can’t. And it’s unbelievably simple to do. Even a few short weeks of financial literacy changes lives.

To help generate outsized attention for this great cause, Team One pitched two web films to JASoCal. And with the help of some very generous and talented partners, we were able to produce them both.

Financial literacy isn’t just for adults. In “The Party,” youth are portrayed as present-day entrepreneurs and financial mavens – making the case that it’s never too early to learn about money.

Parents will do almost anything to help educate their kids. But what if their knowledge doesn’t quite hit the mark?  In “The Talk,” a well-intended parent shares their questionable keys to financial success.
